The festival Glatt&Verkehrt was founded in 1997. In the meantime, more than 5,000 visitors come to Krems and the surrounding area every year to experience exciting musical ideas from all corners of the globe - many of them also newly initiated projects and Austrian debuts. A special attraction of the festival also lies in its different venues and formats. The five final densely programmed festival days of Glatt&Verkehrt have had their stage in the inner courtyard of the Winzer Krems, Sandgrube 13, since 1997. Festival broadcaster Ö1, a cooperation partner of the festival since its inception, records the concerts at the Winzer Krems and broadcasts some of them live. Since 2018, Glatt&Verkehrt has been under the artistic direction of Albert Hosp and his curator Johann Kneihs.
