Neiche Zeid (A New Age), fitting to the festival motto, is the name of the most recent album of this band. It was created in the middle of the first lockdown of the pandemic. When the musicians met again after months for nightly rehearsals and finally for the recording session, the four were not even sure whether they were actually allowed to do so. Under the pressure of the circumstances, ten wild songs finally came into being. “A hell of a band,” says Ernst Molden, “we’ve never been so daring.”
Blues, and in general the sounds of the Southern States, not to forget the Wiener Lied and elements from the Balkans – these are the sounds that set the lyrics of Ernst Molden, this wonderful singer songwriter, to music. So it works well that the musicians have a broad repertoire at their disposal. Marlene Lacherstorfer plays with Alma, but her bass playing is also in demand with artists as diverse as ZOЁ, Wolfgang Ambros, Clueso, and André Heller. Maria Petrova can be heard regularly with the Wiener Tschuschenkapelle and Madame Baheux or the flamenco-and-beyond band Reflejos. Sibylle Kefer is a multi-instrumentalist who concentrates here on flute and guitar. What’s more, they all know how to sing!
